The graduating students from the fashion design course of Sophia Polytechnic College put up an eclectic fashion show over the weekend in Mumbai.
Even though it’s an all-girls college, we were happy to note that a few students from the graduating batch of Sophia Polytechnics’ graduating batch, dabbled in menswear.
The students were inspired by the culture, art and craft forms of India. From Warli art to indigo dyes and Jamini Roy paintings to in-lay work from the Taj Mahal – the garments perfectly reflected the art forms they were inspired by.
The event was directed and choreographed by Nisha Haraale of Niche Entertainments.
Thank you @nishaharaaleofficial and the students and staff of #SophiaPolytechnicCollege #Mumbai for having me as a judge at the annual #fashionshow by the graduating students. I was truly amazed with the sheer talent and dedication of the students who did a fantastic job of creating styles inspired by traditional Indian culture, arts and crafts. #Tvashtaar2018 #menswear #mensfashion #mensstyle #streetwear #streetstyle #fashion #kitsch #athleisure #resortwear #swag
