The Olive Canvas with Ranjit Rodricks presented Ekstasis by Ashley Noronha at Olive Bar & Kitchen in Mumbai.
Young designer Ashly Noronha bedazzled his guests with a lethal dose of EKSTASIS at the monthly Olive Canvas with Ranjit Rodricks in Mumbai last night.
Ashly chose to have a cross-section of his friends and family as his muses to model his summer 2019 collection because, “My clothes are all about inclusivity,” he tells us.
Speaking about the collection, Ashly tells us, “Ekstasis – by definition, is the state of being rapt out of oneself; characterized by a state of fascination, filled with intense and pleasurable emotions. Though you may feel disconnected with the world, the only constant you have is yourself. Ekstasis embodies this absolute state of mind, and personifies unique emotions, characteristics and conflicts that are birthed in transit towards self-actualisation. This collection encourages you to lose your inhibitions, break out of norms and traverse the spectrum of the human condition – in order to truly find yourself.”
What we loved most about the collection is the fact that the prints were especially designed by Ashly over a three-months period, thus making his collection truly exclusive and one-of-a-kind.
The show saw a vibrant mix of muses from all walks of life, sporting his designs. Dr. Cheryl Misquitta (President of Bandra Gymkhana in Mumbai), college students Esha Mandal, Shanaya Misquitta and Ayush Padukone Srivastava, deejay K. Afan, upcoming Bollywood actor Amit Om Malik (he will be seen in Student of the Year 2) and model Apurrva Soni were just a few of the beautiful people who carried off his designs with elan.
The event saw a number of senior designers from the Indian fashion industry come out to show their support for this talented newbie…
And finally, the event would not have been possible without the wonderful Skyy Vodka cocktails, courtesy of Aspri Spirits. Thank you Rajesh Israni and Sweta Mohanty for always being on board as the spirit partner for The Olive Canvas.
