Apart from zombie-like models carrying dragons, iguanas and severed heads (of themselves), on the runway, the styling for men at the Gucci show was very androgynous.
Alessandro Michele – the resident god at Gucci – explored gender fluidity with the styling of the menswear at the eponymous brand’s Fall 2018 show which was held in Milan, yesterday.
Even though the venue was coldly designed to look like a a hybrid between an operating theatre and a hospital’s waiting room, the menswear had decidedly softer touches and the models were styled in a way which allowed them to explore their feminine sides.
While some walked down the runway with big hoop earrings, others were accessorised with chunky / blinky crystal encrusted bracelets and necklaces. And if that was not enough, some of the models wore headscarves (printed or checked) in much the way your favourite grandmother would have worn hers.
One of the models was styled with a blue turban but this was teamed with pink and gold pants and pink, crystal studded sandals while another had kohl-lined eyes and his long hair worn loose.
