Women’s Day was celebrated across the world on March 8th and at Zoo Bar in Mumbai, the celebrations included a social cause where the Miss India Organization’s ‘Adopt a Pet’ initiative saw over sixty hot ladies come out in support of animal adoptions.
The leggy contestants of the Femina Miss India 2016 contest lent heart to ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ (their motto) by supporting World For All Animal Care and Adoptions – an NGO which caters to stray and rescued animals.
This event sought to raise awareness about giving stray Indian breed animals a home with an appeal for adoption. A number of celebrities and Bollywood actors graciously turned out in large numbers to promote the cause.
Among them, were Zubaan star Sarah Jane Dias, Paheli actor Aditi Gowitrikar, supermodel Alesia Raut, fashion designers Sonakshi Raaj and swimwear specialist Nidhi Munim.
A keen animal enthusiast and a former Femina Miss India 2007, Sarah Jane Dias said, “I am thrilled to be attached to this cause. Being a Miss India has always empowered me and it’s a pleasure to be able to use my status for a good cause.”
Actress Urvashi Rautela also advised the contestants on the pros and cons of competing to win the much coveted Miss India crown. Being a former Miss India Universe and a successful Bollywood star, she was able to guide and inspire them with her expert suggestions.
Quite an inspiring event, this was!
